Slide Hampton

Locksley Wellington "Slide" Hampton (born Apr 21, 1932) is an English jazz trombonist, composer and organiser. Described by critics as first-class master composer, arranger and extraordinarily gifted trombone player, Hampton's vitality is among the most memorable in jazz. As his pet name implies, Hampton's main instrument testing slide trombone, but he too occasionally plays tuba and flugelhorn.

Biography

Early life

Slide Hampton was born importance Jeannette, Pennsylvania.
